First day of a new week, almost the end of the month. Clocks have gone back, shorter days, longer nights. Seasons changing, I like that!

Yesterday was a thought provoking day. Many things to think about, things to be happy about, things to dread, sad mixed with happy, it's the balancing of life's scales.

Whilst I need to rest I thought I would share yet more colourful delights from this season taken with my iPhone yesterday.

I digress a little by adding another balance I have to make daily. I don't like to blog about government decisions but I hope one day the powers that be will see the advantage of providing blood glucose testing strips to those who are willing to educate themselves when faced with diabetes.

It was only when we started to use testing strips being careful with each one as we don't know how long we will be allowed to test, we have discovered how much diet and exercise work together to maintain blood glucose levels. Our only problem is some of the veg conflicts with another condition, hence another scale to balance Ph levels. Next HbA1c review will show us if our balancing act has achieved our goal. November!

I was shopping from Alicia who displays the wonderful selection of vegetables shown in my chosen photo today. Thanks to our chats she remembered dad has diabetes and had discovered a new (to me) vegetable 'scorzonera' or Spanish black Salsify. Researched this for me and found it to be particularly suited to diabetes! Google it and see, we will be testing this vegetable using our monitor.

Although I came home totally exhausted another week without supermarkets, feeling inspired my mind enriched by meeting friendly people in a relaxed atmosphere.

I was intrigued with the I.C.O.N logo on the paper I was given with the new vegetable info. We all know the word icon plus a lot more 'i'words iPhone

In this instance the letters are reassuring 'Irish Certified Organic Nutrients' now that is an icon to keep our diets balanced

We also need to keep our lives balanced and trust our friends to be there when we need them most.

True friendships are forever no matter how many ups and downs along the way. It's the balance we share

Note to myself below:

Thursday will test me when I meet with friends I've made and have become really special to me inspiring me in so many ways. I don't want to say goodbye, even when I know they are still there but in a different way.
